Founded in 1955, Verne & Clet, located in the heart of the Rhône-Alpes region, is at the crossroads of traditional French know-how, innovation and sustainable development.
Specializing in "image" clothing - professional garments such as uniforms - which requires very strict specifications in terms of fabric strength and drape, Verne & Clet now offers French-made shirt fabrics. In addition to organic cottons, Verne & Clet also uses recycled cottons and the original use of recycled plastic in its Newlife yarn.
Verne & Clet's production is rooted in France, and the company is on a human scale, producing sustainable and responsible shirt fabrics with guaranteed traceability at every stage of the manufacturing process. All these requirements make Verne & Clet a player in tune with our commitment and our ethical ambitions.
We use two types of fabric for our French fabric shirts: firstly, a twill made from 70% recycled cotton and 30% recycled polyester (from recycled plastic bottles), available in five colors (business blue, Heathered blue, Heathered gray, Heathered beige and Heathered gray).Heathered beige and Heathered blue gray); a stretch poplin made from 80% organic cotton and 20% elastane, available in white, blue, black and navy shirts. These shirt fabrics have proven their durability and beauty.
Twill is appreciated for its ecological dimension and its strength; it is a Verne & Clet principle to rehabilitate the use of polyester - often misused - in fabric manufacture, as its use confers incomparable strength and durability. In this case, it's recycled polyester from Italian plastic bottles, which confirms the responsible nature of this range of fabrics: fabrics that last, that are strong, and that are themselves the result of an entire plastic recycling process. If we like Verne & Clet so much, we're not the only ones, and many labels certify and lend credibility to their fabrics. These include the Oeko-Tex label (which guarantees the non-harmfulness of fabrics and every stage in their manufacture), the Max Havelaar label (which promotes fair trade), and the G.O.T.S. and O.C.S. certifications, which allow the use of the term "organic fabrics" to describe their products.
