Nestled in Alsace, at the foot of the Ballons des Vosges regional nature park, Velcorex Since 1828 draws its inspiration from this peaceful setting to give fabrics their suppleness and full color. Founded 200 years ago, Velcorex is Europe's leading and last remaining velvet factory. Velcorex Since 1929 boasts unique know-how, exceptional mastery and worldwide recognition. Each stage of production highlights the technical particularity of the industrial process and is subject to quality and conformity control, carried out by our integrated laboratories and by all employees between each workshop, from Fit to finish.

A circular economy for processing, recycling and reuse

In 2019, Velcorex is launching the 2025 R(e)n program and committing to an ecological, sustainable and ethical process. The aim is to develop its commitment to nature, by reducing its CO2n emissions, using only organically grown cotton and producing more and more fabrics in Europe while maintaining a strong link with weavers, despite the great years of offshoring of European know-how. The company works exclusively with the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) for sustainable agriculture that respects the soil and promotes a humane ethic among growers worldwide. Velcorex Since 1828 recycles and reuses its textile waste, which is then transformed into insulation by local companies. The fiber dust extracted during fabric finishing is recycled by a local sorting company, along with all cardboard, used plastics and chemicals. The company also pays close attention to the traceability of fabrics, while ensuring that their suppliers guarantee the human, social and environmental values it upholds. In 2020, Velcorex embarks on a process of reclaiming a know-how that has disappeared from France, and relocates the bast fiber chain. In 2020, the company becomes the first flax spinning mill in France, guaranteeing a 100% French supply, from seed to finished product.
