The Reda story
The Reda story begins in 1885 with the founding of a woolen mill in Valle Mosso, in Italy's Piedmont region. In 1919, the Botto Paola brothers, descendants of a renowned textile family, marked the beginning of Reda's expansion into the international textile industry. The company fosters growth through innovation while respecting tradition.
Made in Italy shirts, between tradition and innovation
We unearthed these exceptional fabrics from Reda, one of Italy's last weavers. For 150 years, this family-run business has been based in the Mosso Valley, where it designs its entire production. Today, its factory holds several certifications: "EMAS+", "OEA+", and "Tessile e Salute+". Internationally renowned, the company exports fabrics that combine craftsmanship and innovation.
Responsible manufacturing
LE CHEMISEUR® went to New Zealand to source the noblest of wools: Merino sheep wool. The Reda Active® technology uses a large number of wool fibers from local craftsmen, fully traceable and certified "Mulesing Free". Mulesing is an unfortunately common practice among sheep farmers, which consists in cutting off part of the sheep's tail to prevent disease and facilitate shearing. To avoid this practice, the sheep have to be groomed every day, which in the end takes more time but is much better. So we opted for a "Mulesing Free" wool that guarantees the animal's well-being.
