Ready-to-wear S/M/L is designed to fit roughly everyone — therefore no one in particular. Custom-made adjusts neck circumference, sleeve length, chest fit and back length to your morphology. The result shows immediately under the jacket: fewer creases, no gaping collar, sleeves that stop at the right place. Our AI fit tool generates your pattern from your weight, height and age — trained on more than 50,000 customers.

Three useful brackets: entry-level premium around €60-90, premium ready-to-wear €100-150, traditional bespoke €200 and above. Direct-to-consumer custom-made sits in the same bracket as premium ready-to-wear without the distribution markup: our shirts start at €99. The logic is reversed — you pay for the product, not for marketing or unsold inventory.

For a business shirt: white poplin for lightness, twill for drape under a jacket, Oxford pinpoint for durability and ease of care. For a more relaxed shirt: brushed cotton, linen, heavy oxford. Three objective quality indicators: country of weaving (Italy, France, Portugal at the top), yarn count (the higher, the finer the cotton) and two-fold construction (two yarns twisted together, more resistant). On fit: yes, often better. Our AI uses data from more than 50,000 customers and corrects biases that no individual tailor has in mind. 81% of shirts are perfect on the first order; the others need a minor adjustment of 1 to 2 cm. On human contact: no, we don't have a showroom in every city. It's a deliberate trade-off: less ceremony, more precision, at a price that stays accessible. A properly cared-for shirt lasts between 5 and 10 years depending on wear frequency. Fabric and stitching are the first points to give way — hence the importance of two-fold yarn and serious construction (12 steps in our case). It's also the strongest ecological argument: the less you re-buy, the less is produced. Our on-demand production model reduces CO₂ emissions by 43% compared to an average e-commerce ready-to-wear shirt.

Five quick tests in front of a mirror: (1) the collar should let you slip two fingers between neck and fabric; (2) the shoulder seam falls right on the shoulder bone; (3) at the third button, no visible tension; (4) at the fifth button, you should be able to pinch 3 cm of fabric on each side; (5) the sleeve ends 3 cm above the base of the thumb. If any of these points fails, the shirt is not your size. The ready-to-wear trap: settling for the compromise 'tight at the neck but loose at the chest'.

The transport carbon footprint is divided by ten compared to Asian production.
